I got to play on Australia Day this year, how cool is that? So I decided that while I was drunk with power I would do an entirely australian set. I had some tough competition in the form of Triple J's Hottest 100 but I persevered and played to a rather small but supportive crowd.

I wanted to showcase a range of styles that I feel australians have markd with their own brand, which includes electronica, hip hop, punk and various indie styles. Here's what I played hope ya like it.

MadProps Week 9: The bunch of Flowers

It's hard to believe we're up to week 9 in this challenge. I guess Sookie choose a bunch of flowers leading up to St Valentine's Day.

Well a bunch of flowers made me think of weddings and I thought I could let loose my adventurous, try anything once, side and don drag for the pic.

Extend a Helping Hand SL Charity Event

G'day all,

I just received confirmation that I will be DJing at the Extend a Helping Hand SL Charity event. This event is raising money for victims of the Queensland floods and includes a host of awesome DJs all donating their time to perform.

The event is on the 5th of February, 2011 from 12:00pm - 12:00am SLT that's 7am-7pm Eastern Daylight Time in Australia, on Sunday the 6th. I hope to see lots of friends and punters there should be a big day of wicked tunes.

EaHH is a registered charity and you can also donate directly to that charity.

MadProps Week 8: The Post-It Note

The prop for this week was a post-it note. Wasn't sure what to do with a post-it note so I just placed  a stack of them on a desk and went for the office-worker pose.

The problem with indie pop is tracks only run for about 2-3 minutes so you need to play alot more of them.

MadProps Week 7: The Spoon

Ok the challenge prop this week was a spoon. There is only so much you can do wih a spoon, so I figured getting a pretty backdrop and trying to blend to images together seamlessly would be my focus. Not sure I blended the pics together seamlessly but I learned some valuable lessons playing with light and blurring edges while fine tuning this pic.

MadProps Week 6: The Coat Hanger

I swear these madprops challenges are getting harder. Wasn't sure what to do with a coathanger that didn't involve hanging up clothes, perhaps noobs (j/king), so I went with breaking into cars lol.

Was a great night for this set. I procured some new tunes and had to share them with the crowd. One minor glitch towards the end my computer crashed hard and Io lost the exact playng order of my set. Below in most of the tunes I played last night.

Madprops Week 5: The Mirror

This prop presented me with a real challenge reflections in SL are a tricky thing and not reliable enough for an image on me looking in a mirror. I had to spend a little time learning how to manipulate two images into one on GIMP (free graphics application) but managed to sort out something I could be happy with.

I completely forgot to post this image, probably because it was a rushed job being the week after christmas and all. I wasn't sure what to do with a giftbox so I tried to get all creative in the background but it didn't really work.
